1st Alliance Credit Union

1st Alliance Credit Union launched their new current account in April 2009.  Any individual can open the current account regardless of their financial status.  This enables people who find themselves excluded from mainstream banking to access finance to pay off debts and to take advantage of discounts on direct debits for fuel payments and other household bills.  The Credit Union operate throughout Ayrshire with their main office being in Kilwinning and a further 8 community based collection points in North Ayrshire and one in South Ayrshire.  In 2009/10 Irvine Housing Association secured Wider Role funding towards the launch of the new current account and continues to provide support to 1st Alliance Credit Union. In 2010/11 we recieved more funding to help the service to grow and we will continue to provide support.
