Association Presents Local Youth Club with Football Season Tickets

Irvine Housing Association, as part of its commitment to working with the local community, has once again provided the Stakeford Youth Club with an adult and a child’s Season Ticket for Queen Of The South Football Club (FC) for the second half of the season.

Association Board Member, Alf Hannay and newly appointed Housing Manager (Dumfries and Drongan), Marie Brown, were on hand to present the season tickets to Stakeford Youth Club Leader, Olive Black and some of the children from the Youth Club.

Olive Black explains: “Every week that Queen of the South FC have a home game we will hold a draw at the Youth Club and one lucky winner will be given the use of the season tickets for that weekend’s match. By having both an adult and a child’s season ticket it now means that the football games are widely accessible for families to enjoy.”

“This is a great opportunity for the local children in Stakeford. I know the children look forward to the draw and going to the match.”

Queen of the South

Alf Hannay said: “The Association has always been involved with local groups and initiatives and this scheme helps to support two worthwhile groups - the Stakeford Youth Club and Queen of the South FC. It provides the local young people with a fun opportunity that they may otherwise not have the chance to do and it helps to develop the links that Queen of the South FC has in the local community.”
