DevelopmentsThe Association has ambitious plans and is currently appraising a number of projects. We have been appointed as Development Agent by North Ayrshire Council for the new build Council housing project at Winton Avenue, Kilwinning. We are working in partnership with the Council to successfully deliver this high profile project. The Council’s design team, which was appointed as a result of a quality: price selection process, comprises Robert Potter & Partners (Architect and Lead Consultant),Hodgins Smith Partnership (Civil & Structural Engineer), Armour Construction Consultants (Quantity Surveyor) and CDM Scotland Ltd (CDM Coordinator). The local community has been involved in the design process through consultation and feedback events, and the views of local residents have influenced the overall design of the project. The development, on the site of the former St Michaels Academy, will comprise 40 units, 5 of which will be 2 bed amenity bungalows. The remainder will be general needs housing comprising of 31x2 bed, 3x3 bed and 1x4 bed houses. The eleven properties in phase 1 were completed in October 2011. A further 29 properties in phase 2 will be completed in February 2012.
